Hello,
I am looking to travel (Backpacking) to SEA for 6 months with my partner, starting July this year and ending in December. I have been searching online about budgeting and can only find differing information, each stating i will need between £900 and £2000 per month of travelling (Alone) (most sources from around 2014 / 2016) I have visited travel agents in person (STA Travel and Trail Finders), STA forecast our monthly spend at around £1000 - £1500 and Trail Finders were unhelpful.
We are inexperienced travellers, Having only been on holiday to Turkey (Resort) Malta (Resort) and long weekends driving into France / Belgium Hooray, Chocolate
Duration
We are looking to leave 7th July - 17th December
Countries
We are looking to visit the following countries [Order of countries to visit will be dependant on the rainy season, as we wish to skip that as much as possible]
Start (In no particular order)
- Singapore
- Malaysia
- S Thailand
Middle (In no particular order)
- Bhutan Can be removed
- Nepal Can be removed
End (In no particular order)
- C/N Thailand
- Cambodia
- Vietnam
- Laos
- Burma Can be removed
Any Time
- Bali
Budget
We have a maximum of £12000 secured in savings (We are hoping to only use around £6-8000 of savings, tops) and aim to save a total of £1800 before July.
Quality
Were happy to go on a Shoe String budget, obviously not staying in dangerous places (questionable hostels etc).
My other half also has a health conditions that requires her to take around 15 tablets a day, is there any advice for travelling with medication?
I know it will be hard to provide an accurate estimation of how much we will spend, but i would like some help with gauging estimated spending per month in each part of SEA.
Thank you in advance for any help, please comment if you have any questions.
