Hello,
Greetings. I'm looking to buy a new car sometime around this year's Hari Raya. Currently, I'm using a Kancil.
Since I'm a bachelor, I travel regularly through traffic jams, I have not really driven sedans and my budget is around RM50K I have narrowed down my choices to three small cars:- Axia Advance, Myvi 1.3 Premium X and Iriz Executive CVT.
From my research, here is what I could glean about these 3 cars.
Axia Advance: Cheapest of the three and most fuel efficient of the three. Ride, handling and NVH average. It is the only one here with a touchscreen, reverse camera, GPS and start button. So tech-wise, its the best here.
Myvi 1.3 Premium X: The average within this trio. Everything from price to NVH to fuel efficiency is average. That being said, I like the Gold coloured Myvi a lot.
Iriz Executive CVT: The best in terms of safety (the only one here with a 5 star NCAP rating), handling and NVH. However, the CVT transmission is the worst of the lot and it has the worst fuel efficiency here (why don't Proton update the CVT in the Iriz with the ones in the new Saga or Persona is beyond me).
Obviously I have to sacrifice something. Do I sacrifice safety and handling and go for the Axia ? Do I sacrifice fuel efficiency and deal with a CVT and go for the Iriz ? Or do I just pick the average option which is thd Myvi ?
What are your thoughts ? I mean, I could go for a sedan like Saga Premium or Bezza Advance but I really don't want to buy a sedan because in all my years of driving, I have never driven a sedan, never parked a sedan and never cilok-cilok between gaps in a traffic jam with a sedan. Last thing I want is to buy a sedan and crashing it thinking that I'm still driving a small car.
Cheerio.
