Thanks to everyone who participated in the prediction game! A lot of people asked for the a summary of the responses, so here you go.
Here's the raw data. Feel free to make a copy of this so you can make sure that the responses are untouched at the end of the season.
And the response summary.
Who will win the 2017 World Drivers Championship?
Just under half of all people chose Lewis Hamilton to win the 2017 WDC. Vettel and Raikkonen are 2nd and 3rd respectively, with Vettel favored by roughly a quarter of all respondents. Interestingly, both Ricciardo and Verstappen have been chosen more than Bottas has.
Which team will win the 2017 World Constructors Championship?
Over half of people think Mercedes will win it all, 30% have hopped on board the Ferrari hype train after a strong pre-season testing, and 10% think Red Bull can take the WCC. No one else comes close.
Will any driver lose his race seat during the 2017 season?
Responses are split near even, but the majority of people think all 20 drivers will have their seats at the end of the year.
Will Mercedes win more than 10 races?
Almost half of people think that we're in for another year of Mercedes domination.
Will Sauber score a point?
With only 9 other teams to compete with, a majority (roughly 75%) of people think that Sauber will be able to get in the points at least once this year. However, the other quarter think that the lack of funds, driver skill, and the 2016 Ferrari engine will keep them scoreless.
Who will come 3rd in the WDC?
A nice split bewteen the de-facto #2 drivers, but the majority say that Bottas, in his (assumedly) superior Mercedes will score the most points.
Will full-wet tyres be run by any team in any race session?
A vast majority of people think that we'll see a wet race this year, and the teams will use the redesigned Pirelli wet tyres.
Who will have the most DNFs?
A three-way split between Alonso (who would presumably DNF with engine issues), Vandoorne (also engine issues), and Stroll (who would just crash out). Palmer, Ericsson, and Kvyat also got noticeable vote totals.
Will Mercedes win the first 3 races of 2017?
A large majority say no, despite Mercedes winning the first 3 in both 2014 and 2016 (Vettel took Malaysia in 2015, Mercedes won 2 of 3 that year).
Who will score more points in 2017?
A really neat split bewteen Bottas, Vettel, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Kimi, and to a lesser extent, Hamilton. No one else gets any significant amount of votes.
Will a driver not from Mercedes, Red Bull, or Ferrari win a race in 2017?
Only a third of people think that a team outside of the "big 3" will a race this year. The last time this happened was Kimi winning in a Lotus at Australia in 2013.
Will Lance Stroll crash out of a race before Spain?
Man, you guys are harsh. Almost 90% think that the Canadian rookie will crash out of one of the first 4 races.
Will any F1 driver miss a race due to injury?
No one likes to see this, but it's part of the sport. 60% of people bet against it, despite it happening in every season since 2012.
Who will win the 2017 Belgian Grand Prix?
Lots of people like Kimi at Spa, but Hamilton is the one who gets the most votes.
Will the leader of the Constructors Championship have more or less than 330 points after the British Grand Prix?
Another case of people betting against history. The leader has had more than 330 points in every season in the 1.6L V6 era. But with the new regulations this year, people feel like the teams will be closer together.
How many races will Max Verstappen win?
Most people think that Max will pick up a win or two this year. Few people think that he'll be winless, and even fewer think that he'll be dominant.
How many safety car deployments will there be in 2017?
12 is the most guessed number, followed by 13, 15, and 14. Whatever that means.
Select teams that will win a race in 2017
People are almost certain that Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull will all win a race this year. Williams, who showed good testing pace, is a distant 4th place.
Will the winner of the 2017 WDC be a first-time champion?
Only 15% of people think the WDC will be a first-time champion (Bottas, Ricciardo, Verstappen). The other 85% think it will be an established champion (Hamilton, Vettel, Kimi, Alonsolol)
Which team will finish 4th in the WCC?
Williams is the favorite for 4th, with just over half of the total votes. Force India is 2nd-most chosen, with roughly 20%. A notable number of people think either Renault or Toro Rosso will have a good year.
How many double DNFs will McLaren-Honda have?
A ton of people think they'll have more than 2 DNFs this year, despite not having a single one in 2016. But the Honda PU failed miserably (and repeatedly) in testing, so I can't blame the pessimists.
Who will win the 2017 Monaco Grand Prix?
Ricciardo is the favorite here, after a good performance (not by his pit crew) in 2016.
How many races will start behind the safety car?
I don't really know how to interpret this data, but here it is anyway.
Will Renault score a podium?
The less-yellow (and less-Lotus) Renault hasn't proven itself in a race yet, but over 30% of people predict a podium for the team that was only in the points 3 times last year.
How many lap records will be beaten?
Almost everyone is sure that at least one record will fall this year, but people are really evenly split on the number. The 2017 cars will almost certainly break record on twisty tracks, but the increased drag might slow them down on high-speed circuits.
